PURPOSE:To manufacture a corrosion-resistant enameled long-sized metallic pipe of high quality at a low cost by baking enamel applied to the outsides of short- sized pipes, connecting ends of the pipes to each other, applying enamel again to the outside of the connected part, and baking it. CONSTITUTION:Pulleys 2 for a conveyor traveling along the ceiling of a continuous baking furnace 1 are provided with suspending rods 3 having hooks 4 at the lower ends, short-sized pipes 5 are suspended from the hooks 4 through holes 6 for suspension pierced in the pipes 5, and enamel applied to the outsides of the pipes 5 is backed while slowly moving a rope 9 connecting the rods 3 with a driving wheel 7 and a guide wheel 8. After finishing the baking, the tip parts 10 of the pipes 5 having the holes 6 are cut off, and ends 11 of the pipes 5 are freed of the enamel and welded to each other. Enamel is applied again to the welded part 12 and baked to obtain a long-sized pipe 13. Three or more short- sized pipes 5 may be connected by the same method.
