PURPOSE:To switch upon request a moving speed of a cursor on an image screen, by installing a plurality of circuits operating multiplication of a value transmitted to a computer by the predetermined coefficient and a switch for selection. CONSTITUTION:Counter circuits 7 and 7' calculate distance DELTAX of movement in the X direction and that DELTAY of mevement in the Y direction respectively of a translation detecting device proper 1 and switch selecting circuits 8 and 8' close switch A or B in response to ON/OFF position of velocity switch 6 and connect outputs of counter circuits 7 and 7' with multiplication circuits 9 and 9' respectively. Consequently, in a mode in which the velocity switch 6 is not pressed, the distance of movement signaled to the computer becomes (DELTAX, DELTAY) and when the switch 6 is pressed, the distance signaled becomes (DELTAX/2, DELTAY/2).
