PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device capable of rapidly performing gear change.SOLUTION: A vehicle control device 100 includes a gear change mechanism 106 which has an input shaft, an output shaft, a first gear tooth rotated by the input shaft, and a second gear tooth rotated by the output shaft, and transmits the torque of the input shaft to the output shaft owing to the engagement of the first gear tooth and the second gear tooth with each other. Furthermore, the vehicle control device 100 includes a controlling unit 116 which controls the first gear tooth and the second gear tooth to approach the axial direction by controlling the phases of the input shaft and the output shaft in relation to a prescribed lock state where the first end surface of the first gear tooth and the second end surface of the second gear tooth abut each other and are not engaged, and avoiding the lock state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
