PURPOSE:To eliminate inaccuracy of feed quantity of paper and to improve paper feed accuracy, by measuring a fed amount of the paper of a known longitudinal dimension and determining an error ratio from said measured value and the known dimension and introducing an output with a feeding command considering the error ratio. CONSTITUTION:Prior to starting actually of feeding of a paper, firstly, a paper 3 of known longitudinal dimension is fed on a feeding apparatus and the amount of feed at this time is detected by a position detecting apparatus 5. Next, by calculating a ratio (x/y), fed dimension by measurement x/actual dimension of paper y, the feeding error ratio K of the feeding apparatus is obtained. And, when the paper is fed actually, a value prepared by the actual feeding command divided by the error ratio K is introduced into a operating panel 7 as the actual feeding command for execution of the feed motion of the paper. By this arrangement, constant elimination of the feeding error can be achieved, regardless of thickness and stiffness of the paper.
