PURPOSE:To clarify a current printing position and to improve operability by counting printed character information by a counting means and displaying it by a display control means. CONSTITUTION:A printing position display device for a wordprocessor has a CPU11 to which a system control memory part 15, a dictionary memory part 17, a file buffer 19, a liquid crystal display unit buffer 21, a liquid crystal control part 25 for driving and controlling a liquid crystal display unit 31, etc., are connected. At this time a printing position display control part 35 is installed between the liquid crystal control part 25 and the liquid crystal display unit 31, provided with a counter for outputting the page in the midst of printing and row information and an AND gate, and counts the number of printed characters, etc., form the beginning. Thus page and row information is supplied to the liquid crystal unit 31 with the aid of a printing control signal and can be displayed.
