PURPOSE:To obtain a rotary drum that can be driven by the small start torque and has the satisfactory flywheel effect, by attaching plural weights of the rotary drum via the energizing members like springs, etc. so that each weight is energized in the direction concentrated to the rotary shaft of the drum. CONSTITUTION:In a starting mode of a motor, the weight 2 are distributed so that they are concentrated to the center of a rotary drum 1 by the force of plate spring 4 respectively. Thus it is possible to revolve a rotary drum 1 with a motor of small start torque. Each weight 2 moves apart from a rotary shaft 5, i.e., toward the outer circumference of the drum 1 against the force of the spring 4 as the revolving speed of the drum 1 is increased after the motor is started. Then the weights 2 are moved up to the positions shown by the broken lines respectively when the drum 1 is revolving at a high speed. Therefore the moment of inertia of the drum 1 is increased as the revolving speed of the drum is increased after the motor is started. Thus the drum 1 has the satisfactory flywheel effect for stable revolutions in its high-speed revolution mode.
