PURPOSE:To prevent trespassing of a foreign material into each equipment by examining preliminarily conformity of a processed material to a preparation condition on the entrance side of automated pipe processing equipment and machine. CONSTITUTION:A work piece W for processing is watched by a tracking watching apparatus 2 connected to a computer 1 and specifications of material to be processed by a straitener 8 are stored in the apparatus 2. Simultaneously, the criterion value is introduced into a comparing-judging circuit 4 from the apparatus 2, and after comparison of its preset reference value of the dimension of the work piece W, the work piece W is checked for conformity to the preset preparation condition in the straightener 8. When the measured value does not satisfy the reference value to inconformity to the preparation condition, then the work piece is judged as a foreign material and an abnormality signal is issed to the straightener controlling apparatus 5 to stop the straightener 8 and at the same time, a line stopping signal is issued to a material conveying controlling apparatus 7 also.
