PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor light emitting element which can improve luminance and favorably express an intended peak emission wavelength.SOLUTION: A semiconductor light emitting element 1 includes an n-type layer 4, a p-type layer 5 and a luminescent layer 6 sandwiched between the n-type layer 4 and the p-type layer 5. The luminescent layer 6 has a multiquantum well structure in which a barrier layer 11 and a quantum well layer 12 are alternately laminated over a plurality of cycles. In the luminescent layer 6, an n-type impurity concentration of the barrier layers 11 arranged from next to the p-type layer 5 to the α-th layers (4-th layer) is set smaller than an n-type impurity concentration of the barrier layer 11 arranged in the (α+1)-th layer (5-th layer) from next to the p-type layer 5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
