PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of a slip, by a method wherein, in running control of a moving body running on rails, the moving body is adpated to be changed in a speed pattern depending upon humidity on the rails. CONSTITUTION:When a desired address 25 is input to a computer 21, computer 21 outputs a speed instruction to frive a stacker crane at a given speed pattern. At the desired address, it is decided by means of signals from a running forward detector 22 and a reversing detector 23 whether a moving body is brought to an abnormal stop or not, and when it is an abnormal stop, detecting humidity 24 is compared with set humidity. When below the set value, it is decided to be hard abnormality, and when the detecting value exceeds the set value, an ecceleration deceleration speed is slightly changed depending upon detecting humidity. This constitution prevents the occurrence of a slip.
