PURPOSE:To reduce an off-track quantity and to increase track density by suppressing deformation such as flexure of the second arm member due to a temperature change. CONSTITUTION:The first arm member 4 is made of iron, the second arm member 3 is made of aluminum alloy and the third arm member 9 is made of iron having about the same thermal expansion coefficient as the first arm member 4. As the temperature is increased, the second arm member 3 does not follow the first arm member 4 in heat expansion by the frictional force at a surface B in the vicinity of the surface B contacting with the member 4. On the other hand, in the vicinity of the contact area C between the second arm member 3 and the third arm member 9, it follows the heat expansion of the first arm member 4 by the frictional force at the surface C. In such a manner, the second arm member 3 is free from deformation such as flexure due to a temperature change, so that positional deviation between the magnetic head 2 mounted to the second arm member 3 and the track recorded on the surface of the magnetic disk 1 is reduced.
