SOLID-STATE IMAGE PICKUP DEVICE

PURPOSE:To bring the vertical resolution of a picture pattern to a value obtained from a substantial photodetector density and to realize a wide dynamic range by using a charge transfer solid-state image pickup device whose photodetector cell region is used also for charge transfer. CONSTITUTION:A solid-state image pickup device 100 is provided at the back of an image pickup lens 10 by which an object image is formed via an optical shutter 12. The photodetector cell region of the solid-state image pickup device 100 is used for charge transfer, its output is fed to a delay circuit 16 via a switch 14 and fed to a signal processing circuit 20. The signal processing circuit 20 converts the input signal into a signal suitable for the recording system of a recorder 24. On the other hand, the output of the delay circuit 16 is fed to a signal processing circuit 34 via a synthesis circuit 28. The switch 14 is controlled by a control circuit 40 and the delayed signal and the original signal are fed alternately to the synthesis circuit at each 1H and the signals on two lines are synthesized and outputted.
