PURPOSE:To obtain the titled substance useful as an insecticide, easily under mild condition, by reacting a dialkyl phosphate with a specific phenolic derivative using dicyclohexyl carbodiimide as the phosphatizing agent. CONSTITUTION:The objective substance of formula III can be produced by reacting (A) the dialkyl phosphate of formula I (R1 and R2 are lower alkyl) (e.g. diethyl phosphate) with (B) the compound of formula II (R3 and R4 are H, lower alkyl, nitro, aryl or R3 and R4 together form benzene ring) (e.g. 4-nitro- m-cresol) in the presence of (C) dicyclohexyl carbodiimide as a phosphatizing agent. The amounts of the compound B and compound C are preferably 1-4mol and 1-2mol per 1mol of the compound A. The reaction is carried out usually in a solvent such as pyridine at room temperature for 6-12hr.
