PURPOSE:To cast integrally a connecting shaft and body without forming a through-hole by providing cavities corresponding to the supporting pieces of a presser metal to the bottom surface of a cope, disposing a hollow groove between the same and inserting a slide receiving piece from the side face of the cope therein. CONSTITUTION:The cavities 3, 3 corresponding to the supporting pieces of the presser metal are provided to the bottom surface of the cope 2 and the hollow groove 4 communicating with the cavities 3, 3 is disposed. The slide receiving piece 6 facing diametrically the lower part of an upper groove 5 made to a semi-circular section is inserted into the groove 4 from the side face of the cope 2 in such a manner that said piece can move into and out of the groove. A square guide rod 7 is disposed by inserting the same into the square hole bored to the base part 6a of the piece 6. The cope 2 is superposed on a drag 1 and a molding material is poured through a sprue 9 and after the material is solidified, the cope 2 is removed upward. The piece 6 is guided by the rod 7 and is removed. The presser metal united with the connecting shaft is thus obtd. The integral casting of the connecting shaft is produced without forming the through-hole by the above-mentioned method.
