PURPOSE:To miniaturize the entire device in comparison with a conventional original platen moving type by providing an original carrier means carrying sequentially only a sheet original at the uppermost position on the original platen and reading the picture of the original while only the sheet original is being carried. CONSTITUTION:A picture read means 19 reading a picture of an original (a) is provided to a case 18 reciprocated freely along the original platen 13 supported to a support rod 17 and an original carrying means 21 to extract the original at the uppermost position on the original platen 13 to a tray 20 is provided. Moreover, rollers 27, 28 driven attended with the movement of the case 18 while being pressed into contact onto the original are provided to both sides in the moving direction of the case 18 to a picture read position 26. In operating a print button, the rollers 27, 28 are driven and only the original at the uppermost position on the original platen 13 is extracted in excess of double carrying prevention claw (b) at both sides on the platen 13 and the original is discharged to the tray 20 by a couple of rollers 28, 29 and a picture read means 19 reads the picture of the original during this time.
