PURPOSE:To remove an abnormal discharge in an early stage and increase the frequency of a normal discharge consequently increase a machining speed, by forcedly injecting pulse energy of a low frequency to a machining gap in an abnormal condition. CONSTITUTION:A control circuit 6, when it receives an abnormal condition signal of arc short-circuit from a discriminator circuit 8, immediately turns off a switch 4 if said signal is an arc signal, and the discriminator circuit 8 discriminates a gap condition. This action is repeated till generation of the arc signal disappears. Further the control circuit, even if it turns off the switch 4 immediately after the arc signal is generated, generates a current pulse for the generation period or more of a check pulse, performing the action removing a connection arc discharge.
