PURPOSE:To provide a substantial shielding effect to small incident angle light as well and to prevent surface reflection by parallel providing light shielding pieces at an approximately specified pitch in the form of embedding partly or fully the light shielding pieces into a light transmittable plate. CONSTITUTION:The light shielding pieces 2, 3 consisting of a light non-transmittable material are parallel provided at the approximately specified pitch in the respectively corresponding positions on both sides of the light transmittable plate 1 consisting of a light transmittable material in the form of partly or fully embedding the same into the plate 1 into such construction in which the pieces 2 on at least the exit side project from the surface of the light transmittable plate. The sizes of the respective parts are selected as expressed by the equation. Plastics having high transmittance in general are preferable as the light transmittable material. Then the incident light from between the pieces 2n and 2n+1 on the exit side is absorbed by both of the pieces 2n+1 or 2n+1 and 3n+1 on the lower stage according to the incident angle or the direction thereof is changed so as not to arrive at the image plane of a display, by which the incident external light from above at a nearly horizontal angle in a wide range is shielded and the decrease in the contrast of the image plane is prevented.
