PURPOSE:To enhance the concn. efficiency of sludge and to enable stable solid- liquid separation, by providing a means, which allows supplied sludge to flow in the annular space between an outer cylinder and a screw conveyor, to one end side of the screw conveyor. CONSTITUTION:The sludge supplied from a sludge supply pipe 30 is supplied to the counter transfer end part of an annular space 17 from a screw conveyor 15 through a supply port 21 and subjected to solid-liquid separation by centrifugal force. The separated conc. sludge (a) is scraped up to a transfer direction through the annular space 17 by the screw conveyor 15 rotating so as to have a slight relative speed with respect to an outer cylinder 11 and flows in a discharge passage 26 from the gap between the outer cylinder 11 and a partition wall panel 24 and enters a discharge chamber 28 through a discharge pipe 23 to be discharged to the outside. The separated liquid (b) enters a hollow shaft 18b from a discharge passage 25 and enters a separated liquid discharge chamber 27 through a communication gap 22 to be discharged to the outside.
