PURPOSE:To avoid the receiving of uplift during high-tide period by providing excellent wave-breaking functions against a wide range of periodical waves for a permeable breakwater by providing an air permeator to the upper part of the breakwater. CONSTITUTION:The upper part of a dam-shaped structure 2 is exposed from the surface of water and set in water at an interval from the bottom in water. An air permeator 6 is provided to the upper part of the structure 2 of a hollow structure filled with air, whose bottom is opened. The air permeator 6 is designed to allow air to come in or out only when water level in the structure 2 is gently changed by the ebb and flow of tide. The durability and stability of the structure 2 can thus be raised without receiving uplift during the high tide. Also, since the air in the inside serves as a damper against abrupt change of water surface by waves, the energy of waves permeating the structure 2 can be absorbed to break the waves.
