PURPOSE:To reduce greatly the memory capacity by storing a silent signal part in a memory part after converting it into the data signal showing the silent signal and the time length data signal. CONSTITUTION:The analog signal supplied from a microphone 1 is converted into the digital signal by an A/D converting part 2 and identified the sound signal with the silent signal through a silent detecting part 3. The sound signal is directly sent to a selector part 5. While the silent signal is converted into the silent time data signal by a silent time measuring part 4 and sent to the part 5. The part 5 is controlled by the part 3. When the silent signal is inputted to the part 3, both the silent data signal and the silent data time data signal are stored in a memory part 6. In a reproduction mode the silent time data signal is sent to a silent data time producing part 8. Then the silent signal is sent to a selector part 9 to reduce the analog sound signal output down to zero just for a period when the silent time data signal is shown.
