PURPOSE:To fixedly securing lower rails to upper rails and a seat cushion for improved operativity of assembling a seat to a car body by providing a stopper member at a predetermined position of the lower rails with respect to the upper rails. CONSTITUTION:A seat 1 is supported through a pair of right and left upper rails 6 fixedly secured on the lower surface of a seat cushion 2 and extending front-to-back and a pair of right and left lower rails 7 fixedly secured on the car body floor A and extending front-to-back. When a slide lever 8 is operated in the direction C, the upper rails 6 become slidable along the lower rails 7. In this case, a stopper 23 is provided on the inside of the front end of an engaged member 11 fixedly secured to the lower rails 7. When an engaging member 14 provided on the upper rails 6 is rotated to disengage the engaging pawl 14a from an engaging hole of the engaged member 11 provided on the lower rails 7, the engaging pawl 14a is engaged in an engaging recess 23a of the stopper 23.
