PURPOSE:To surely acquire information during absence without delay by adopting the constitution that a message is sent to not only a phone call during absence but also a visitor during absence, the message of the visitor is recorded and the message is received from a visiting place. CONSTITUTION:When an incoming call comes from a telephone line and a station incoming detection circuit 2 detects the incoming call, a detection signal is sent to a trunk line circuit 3. Thus, the circuit 3 is brought into the line holding state, a tape recorder 4 is driven by a drive control circuit 5 and a reply message is sent to a telephone line via the circuit 3. When the sending of the reply message is finished, the drive control circuit 5 rewinds the tape recorder 4 and gives a recording start signal to a drive control circuit 7, which uses the signal to drive a tape recorder 6 for a prescribed time thereby recording a telephone message. When a call comes from a doorphone line, a doorphone call detection circuit 10 and a doorphone connection circuit 11 act like the station incoming detection circuit 2 and the trunk line circuit 3 and a reply message is sent from the tape recorder 4 to the doorphone line. Then after the end of transmission, the tape recorder 6 records the message of a visitor.
