PURPOSE:To reduce the manufacturing cost by inserting a round bar stock into a lower die in which a tooth form part has been formed, also bringing it to compression forming to a pinion by upper and lower dies, and subsequently, rotating the pinion and drawing it out of the lower die. CONSTITUTION:On the inside peripheral surface of a lower die 1, a tooth form part 1a for forming a gear is formed, and also, on the upper part of the peripheral surface of a through-hole 2b in the center of a receiving base 2, a tooth form part 2c having the same particulars as the tooth form part 1a is formed continuously. Also, in a reduced diameter part 7b of an upper die 7, a spline groove 4a is provided. A round bar stock 1 is inserted into the lower die 1 and the upper die 7 is fitted into the lower die 1, and subsequently, by pressing the upper die 7, a tooth form part 4b of a pinion 4 and a spline groove 4a are formed. After removing the upper die 7, a stopper screw 5 is rotated and made to ascend, ad the pinion 4 is rotated and drawn out. The pinion 4 can be formed in one process, therefore, the manufacturing cost is reduced.
