PURPOSE:To satisfactorily record an image-picked-up picture information with high quality by provisionally storing picture information in a semiconductor memory means, then reproducing it and repeatedly recording it until normal recording is executed on a magnetic disk, etc. CONSTITUTION:A picture signal image-picked-up in an image pickup part 10 is converted into a digital signal by an A/D converter 16, and provisionally stored in a frame memory 20. After it is read out of the frame memory 20, it is converted into an analog signal by a D/A converter 22, and outputted to an analog switch 18, to which picture information from the image pickup part 10 is inputted. The analog switch 18 is connected to a recorder 26 such as a magnetic disk through a signal processing circuit 24. Then a detector 40 detects whether recording is normally executed or not, and according to the detection result a control circuit 28 records picture information accumulated in the frame memory 20 in the recorder 26 until normal recording is executed.
