PURPOSE:To make it possible to facilitate and promote the visual inspection and correction of an IC measuring section upon occurrence of jamming, by opening a space above the measuring section when an IC storage section in an orienter is aligned with an inclined chute rail. CONSTITUTION:An orienter 7 is constructed such that an IC storage section 7b journalled to a rotary shaft 7a is rotated in reciprocation as indicated by the double-headed arrow E-F, and is adapted to receives an IC 2a along an inclined chute rail 1 as indicated by the solid line. The IC storage section 7b in the orienter 7 is so arranged that it is prevented from crossing an extension line shown by the arrow D as indicated by the phantom line when the IC storage section 7b in the orienter 7 is aligned with the inclined chute rail 1 as indicated by the solid line, and a handler rotary shaft 7a to which the storage section 7b is journalled for rotation is formed in a cantilever type bearing shaft so that it is prevented from crossing the arrow D. When jamming occurs at the position of an IC 2c in a measuring section 4, the storage section 7b in the orienter 7 is rotated in the direction of the arrow F to be retracted from a position above a chute rail 4a in the measuring section, and accordingly, it is possible to check the measuring section after a plug 9 is removed.
