PURPOSE:To obtain a device which returns to a true steering neutral angle speedily when deviating in steering neutral angle and has fast response and high accuracy by computing the steering neutral angle on the basis of mean steering angle values and weight coefficients. CONSTITUTION:A mean steering angle value arithmetic means computes the means value of the steering angle value in a run section where the quantity of variation in steering angle is smaller than the specific preset quantity of variation, and a weight coefficient selecting means selects a weight coefficient on the basis of run distance in the section. Then, the quantity of variation based on the steering angle value detected by a steering angle detecting means is compared with the specific preset quantity of variation by a steering angle variation quantity decision means. When the quantity of variation in steering is larger than the specific preset quantity of variation, a steering neutral angle arithmetic means averages said steering angle means values by addition according to the weight coefficients to find the steering neutral angle.
