PURPOSE:To reduce color misregistering and contrive the enhancement in color reproduction properties and resolution, by providing a plurality of elastic pinch rollers for pressing a recording paper against a rigid capstan. CONSTITUTION:A recording paper 16 is fed by a rigid capstan 11 and two elastic pinch rollers 12 capable of being freely rotated. The paper 16 is supplied from a recording paper roll 15, and is pressed by the pinch rollers 12 so that it does not slip relative to the capstan 11. The paper 16 and a thermal transfer sheet 18 supplied from a thermal transfer sheet roll 17 are pressed against a thermal head 14 by a freely rotatable elastic platen 13, and thermal transfer recording is performed with thermal energy generated by the head 14. With the recording paper thus prevented from slipping relative to the capstan, color misregistering can be made extremely slight, and the enhancement in color reproduction properties and resolution can be contrived.
