摘要 PURPOSE:To suitably process the output of the large image pickup means of a dynamic range by reading an image signal from the image pickup means after a detecting step to detect the level of a prescribed image signal and a gain adjusting step and having a processing step, etc., to process a signal with a gain. CONSTITUTION:The light quantity to be made incident on an image pickup element 1 and an information signal is accumulated in accordance with exposing control data from a system control 9 based upon the output of a light measuring circuit LM. Next, by a control signal from the system control, an exposing control means 11 interrupts an image pickup element and the information signal is read. At a comparator 6, it is discriminated whether or not the integrating result of the luminance signal in the information signal is in prescribed scope. Thereafter, the same image information is read from a non-destructive image pickup element 1 again, the level of the read image information is in the dynamic range of a process processing circuit and after suitable correction is executed, the level is recorded as a still picture in a recording circuit 13. Consequently, the gradation of a video can be suitably realized.
