PURPOSE:To prevent data from disappearing due to the disconnection of a power source and to speed up operations by adopting a fixed head disk for a disk cache memory. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic disk device 7 with a fixed head track has storage areas in a fixed head track part 4 and a variable head track part 5. The latter 5 has plural tracks decided by moving (seeking) a head and by selecting a head. When an output request part requesting an output from a variable head track is outputted to the variable head track, a control part 2 controls a fixed head track and a volatile memory 3 so that they can act as the disk cache memory of the variable head track. If the output request part issues plural output requests to the variable head track, the control part 2 actually is modified and controls the sequence of output to the variable head track so that the sequence requires the minimum seek time.
