PURPOSE:To prevent the reduction in a job throughput by allowing a resource forced release means to detect the stop of a host computer so as to release a common resource forcibly being a forced release object assigned to the stopped host computer. CONSTITUTION:The titled system consists of a resource assigning state storage means 4 managing the common share/exclusive assigning state from each host of common resource, a resource common share/exclusive assignment control means applying the assignment/release processing of the resource based on the means 4 in receiving a common resource assignment/release request from each host and a resource forced release means 5 releasing the resource assigned to the stopped host forcibly based on the means 4 if one host in the system is stopped. Thus, even if a host computer is stopped, the reduction in the throughput of the other host computer is prevented and the other host computers need not apply the release processing of the common resource, then the reduction in the job throughput is prevented.
