PURPOSE:To reproduce an image high in fidelity, to eliminate back-ground stains, to improve smoothness and electrostatic characteristics of a photoconductive layer, and to enhance printing resistance by incorporating >=1 kind of resin having >=1 specified oxazolone ring in a binder resin. CONSTITUTION:The binder resin contains at least one kind of resin having at least one of the oxazolone rings represented by the formula shown on the right in which each of R1 and R2 is, optionally same or different, H or a hydrocarbon group, or each may form a ring together with each other. Said resin having a molecular weight of 10<3>-10<6>, preferably, 5X10<3>-10<5> can be obtained by polymerizing at least one kind of monomer containing said ring alone or together with a monomer copolymerizable with said monomer, such as vinyl acetate, propionate, or butyrate.
