PURPOSE:To complete mixing of a sample and reagent in a short period at the diffusion suppressed as low as possible by dividing a flow passage to which the sample and reagent flow to plural pieces, then joining the divided passages again. CONSTITUTION:The carrier liquid 1 is kept continuously passed in a capillary 11 by a pump 2. A flow passage selector valve 3 is preliminarily provided to the mid-way of the capillary 11. The sample 5 is taken by a pump 7a into the loops 8A, 8b of the valve 3. The reagent 6 is taken by a pump 7b into the loop 8b. The valve 3 is then changed over to introduce the samples in the loop 8A, 8B and the reagent in the loop 9 into the flow of the carrier liquid 1 by the flow of the carried liquid 1. The mixing of the sample and reagent is thereby started and at the same time, the reaction is initiated. The resulted product of reaction is introduced by the carrier liquid 1 into a detector 4 by which the measurement is made and the objective component in the sample 5 is quantitatively determined. The mixing of the sample and reagent is further accelerated if a mixer 10 is provided behind the valve 3.
