摘要 PURPOSE:To enhance the characteristic of eccentric abrasion of a steel tire having a relatively large flatness ratio, by satisfying a specific relationship among the radius of curvature of the crown section before the internal pressure building up, the width of the crown section, the radius of curvature of the shoulder sections and the width of the tread section. CONSTITUTION:A steel radial tire having a flatness ratio of greater than 0.9, which is the ratio between the width W and height H of the tire, is composed of a crown section having a radius Rc of curvature before the internal pressure builds up, and a width Wc when the crown has the above-mentioned radius of curvature. Further, the shoulder sections contiguous to the crown section on both sides of the latter has a radius Rs of curvature, and the tread section composed of the crown section and the shoulder sections has a width Wt. In this arrangement, the dimensions of the above-mentioned sections are set so that the following formulas may be satisfied: 2.5<Rc/Wt<5.0, 0.5<Wc/Wt<0.75, 1.1<Rs/Rc<2.0. With this arrangement, the distribution of ground contact pressure of the tire during running is made to be uniform, thereby it is possible to prevent eccentric abrasion.
