An action unit for advertising or playing purposes consists substantially of a helix arrangement, a supporting apparatus and a rotary drive. As a helix arrangement, three helical rails, offset by 120 DEG relative to each other, are mounted on a supporting pillar. The rotary drive engages at the foot end of the supporting pillar. The supporting pillar is rotatably mounted in the supporting apparatus and has an angle of inclination to the vertical. The helical rails consist of magnetic material, so that single-axled gyroscopic vehicles adhere to them. If the helix arrangement is caused to rotate by means of the rotary drive, the gyroscopic vehicles run along the helical rails and thus execute a continuous upward and downward movement on the helix arrangement.
