PURPOSE:To carry out the function of lending service, etc., even if the system is shut down by recording irreducible information required for library utilization such as ID numbers, lending information, and the number of times of copy acceptance, and displaying it visually. CONSTITUTION:This device is equipped with a recording part 1 which records information in such a pattern that the information is electrically readable and writable and a display part 2 which records magnetically and displays part of recording contents of the recording part (library entrance mark, the numbers of times of lending and the number of lent books, and the number of times of copy acceptance) in patterns visible to a user. An ID member 3 characteristic to an ID card is, for example, stamped at an optional position on the reverse surface of the recording part 1. The lending information can be confirmed on the display part 2, so the system is put in operation in both on-line and off-line modes. The available period is also recorded at the recording part 1. Characters of the kinds of magazines, books, etc., and the number of copy acceptance which are the contents of the library entrance mark and lending information are entered nearby the display part 2 corresponding to the respective display contents to assist the understanding of the display contents.
