PURPOSE:To print a slashed zero through single key operation, by providing a means for selectively setting print of slashed zero and non-slashed zero. CONSTITUTION:When a mode for printing a slashed zero is set, a (code) key and a (/) slash key are depressed. If the type of zero is nearer to the printing position than the slash type, a control output is fed to a type wheel operating motor 12 so as to align the type wheel with a numeric zero, then printing operation is carried out to print zero; thereafter, a control output is fed to the type wheel operation motor 12 so as to align the type wheel with the slash type, whereby printing operation is carried out to print the slash. If the slash is nearer to the printing position than zero, slash is printed first followed by printing of zero. Upon printing of a slashed zero, a control command is fed to a carriage motor 13 so as to feed a carriage.
