PURPOSE:To exactly drip quantitative mercury by means of a rotational operation of an axis extended through a mercury container so as to perform introduction of mercury into a lamp by forming a cut-out part for quantitative weighing of mercury into a shape much dissimilar to that of a mercury grain. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of exhaustion heads 1 are fixed on a main table 2 of an exhaustion device, and a discharge lamp 3 is supported by an exhaust pipe 4 thereof so as to keep airtightness by the use of an elastic rubber member 5. The exhaustion head 1 is provided with a mercury container 6, a rotary axis 7 extended through this container 6, and a cutter 8 which supportingly engages with this axis 7 and performs quantitative weighing separation of mercury. After the discharge lamp 3 is assembled, an exhausting operation is performed through a nipple 9. By way of a prescribed exhaustion schedule, a lever 10 is rotated by a fixed angle theta by the use of an unillustrated external actuator on a station where mercury is to be dripped, and mercury grains 12 filling into a rectangular dimpled cut-out part (recessed part) 11, which is disposed on a rotary axis 7 so as to perform quantitative weighing of mercury, are dripped to be filled into the discharge lamp 3.
