PURPOSE:To produce a polyaluminosilazane excellent in high-temperature mechanical strengths, heat resistance, corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance and heat shock resistance, by reacting a specified polysilazane with a specified aluminum alkoxide. CONSTITUTION:A polysilazane of a number-average MW of 100-50,000, comprising units of formula I (wherein R<1-3> are each H, alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, another group having C directly bonded to the Si, alkylsilyl, alkylamino or alkoxy, and at least one of R<1-3> is H), is mixed with an aluminum alkoxide of formula II (wherein R<4> is H, a 1-20C alkyl or aryl, and at least one R<4> is a 1-20C alkyl or aryl) at an Al to Si atomic ratio of 0.001-60, and reacted at 400 deg.C or below for 1-50hr in an organic solvent (e.g., benzene) in an inert atmosphere to obtain a polyaluminosilazane of an Al to Si atomic ratio of 0.001-3 and a number-average MW of 200-500,000.
