PURPOSE:To permit prepn. of an element which is additionally approximated to the information processing process specific to living things by providing functions such as conductivity delaying property and plasticity to a conductivity varying element. CONSTITUTION:Current hardly flows in the beginning when the potential sufficient for dedoping of a doped anion is impressed to the element, but the current begins to flow upon lapse of time until the current is saturated soon afterward. The dopant tends to be dedoped right after the impression of the voltage, but polypyrrole contg. BF4<-> contained in a 1st layer 34 is hardly dedoped; consequently, the current hardly flows. However, B(C6H5)4<-> begins to be dedoped upon lapse of time and the current flows gradually. The current is saturated when the dedoping of BF4<-> of a high moving speed attains rate determining step. The conductivity varying element has the conductivity delaying property and plasticity, etc., in such a manner and since the plasticity thereof has a high resemblance with the plasticity of synapse, the prepn. of the element additionally approximated to the information processing process intrinsic to living things is permitted.
