PURPOSE:To reduce memory capacity, by providing a control means to store the results of counting and elapsed time from the preceding memory time into a memory sequentially only when the counting of at least one input pulse or more with a counter takes place within unit time. CONSTITUTION:The results 13 of counting of input pulses 11 with a counter 12 are supplied into a reader 14. The reader 14 reads the results 13 of counting receiving a reference time signal 18 supplied from a reference time generator 17 together with a discriminator 15 and an arithmetic processor 16 as each unit time passes and then, the contents thereof are cleared. The results 19 of counting are supplied to the discriminator 15 to check for possible counting. When the counting of the input pulses 11 takes place within the unit time, the discriminator 15 writes counts thereof and elapsed time from the preceding to current writing into a memory 21 and the elapsed time is reset. In this manner, the writing of data into the memory 21 is performed sequentially. Those necessary of the data are read with an arithmetic processor 16 for computation processing. Then, a counting rate data 23 is displayed on the screen of an output display device 24 to print out.
