In known clamping devices, the clamping strip is moved in the clamping gap (groove) by means of a multiplicity of screws which are to be actuated as evenly and simultaneously as possible. By means of the new device, even clamping of the dressing is to be possible from a single point with simplified operation. The clamping strip (11) is connected by means of piston rods (9) to pistons (5) which are movable counter to the pressure of a spring (17) in operating cylinders (4) provided in the groove base (3). The movement takes place by energy - preferably a pressurised fluid - acting on the piston (5) via a non-return valve (21), a pressure storage chamber (19) and feed ducts (18). The clamping device is particularly suitable for attaching rubber blankets to blanket cylinders of offset rotary printing machines. <IMAGE>
