In the case of known holding element, a locking device is provided at each end of the holding element. The locking nose regions of the locking device overlap the parts to be taken hold of from the rear. The fitting part which is to be mounted by means of the holding element does not have any lining. The new holding element is to have an outline which does not have any protuberances and is intended to make separate lining parts superfluous. According to the invention the holding element is essentially pot-shaped and faces the interior of the vehicle with its floor which is provided with an aperture, in the annular casing, both locking devices being arranged on that side of the floor which faces away from the interior of the vehicle and the locking noses of the said locking devices pointing in opposite directions. The holding element is suitable for fastening a loudspeaker in a wall of a motor vehicle from the interior of the vehicle.
