PURPOSE:To obtain a flame retardant composition, containing alkylene oxide adduct of guanidine salt based compound as an active ingredient, having good color-protecting properties, tear strength and softness on heating and readily soluble in water, sizing agent, etc. CONSTITUTION:The aimed composition containing normally >=10wt.% (preferably >=20wt.%) alkylene oxide adduct of guanidine salt based compound (e.g. guanidine sulfamate propylene oxide), guanidine phosphate ethylene oxide, guanidine sulfate ethylene oxide, etc.). The above-mentioned alkylene oxide is used in the addition mole numbers of normally 1-10 (preferably 1-5). A raw material for using the composition includes e.g. fiber material such as cellulose based material paper and cloth, building material, etc., such as wood. |
