PURPOSE:To shorten blowing time, to improve operating ratio of a converter and also to prevent erosion of refractory at furnace wall in the converter caused by molten slag, by using Fe-Mn powder as an Mn enriching agent at the time of producing molten steel by oxygen blowing molten iron, which beforehand desiliconizing and dephosphorizing are executed, under slagless condition in the converter. CONSTITUTION:After executing pre-refining of desiliconizing and dephosphorizing in a vessel at out of the furnace to the molten iron tapping from a blast furnace, the molten slag is removed and only the molten iron is charged into the converter. In this case, ferromanganese having <=20mm of granulate state is added as the MN enriching agent, without using Mn ore. In the case of using the Mn ore, SiO2 as gangue is increased, but in the case of adding the ferromanganese, the blowing time can be shortended by exothermic reaction, without necessity of addition of temp. rising agent. Further, the erosion of the basic refractory caused by increasing SiO2 quantity in the molten slag is reduced.
