PURPOSE:To manufacture a high-efficiency and low-cost permanent magnet improved in residual magnetic flux density, etc., by subjecting an alloy containing rare-earth elements, iron, and boron to melting, casting, and then heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:An alloy consisting of rare-earth elements (including Y), iron, boron, and inevitable impurities is melted and cast. Subsequently, hot working, such as rolling and stamping, is applied. Then, if necessary, a heat treatment state is added, or, the alloy after the above heat treatment is crushed and the resulting powder is kneaded together with an organic binder, which is compacted so as to be formed into a resin-bonded-type magnet. By this method, the high- efficiency permanent magnet improved in coercive force and maximum energy product can be manufactured. |
