PURPOSE:To enable rapid desilvering without impairing photographic char acteristics by incorporating the ferric complex salt of aminopolycarboxylic acid, water soluble bromide and specific bleaching accelerator into a prebath having the bleaching power of a desilvering stage and specifying the respective concns. thereof and the pH of the prebath. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive material formed by coating a silver halide emulsion layer equiv. to 3g or above as silver per 1m<2> of a base on the base is subjected to color development and thereafter, the desilvering stage is consti tuted of the prebath having the bleaching power and post bath having the bleach-fixing power. The ferric complex salt of the aminopolycarboxylic acid is incorporated at 4X10<-1>mol/l-6X10<-1>mol/l, the water soluble bromide at 1.2mol/l-2.5mol/l and the bleaching accelerator expressed by the formula I at 1X10<-4>mol/l-1X10<-2>mol/l into the prebath. The material is processed by this bath after the pH thereof is adjusted to a 4.5-5.8 range. In the formula, R1, R2 denote a hydrogen atom., lower alkyl group, etc. The good photographic characteristics are thereby obtd. and the desilvering is speeded up. |
