PURPOSE:To allow the same mirror face of a polygon mirror with mirror faces equal to one of integral dividends to scan the main scanning line of the positions of unit cells constantly and thereby make possible the printing of a high-quality image by providing the polygon mirror for the number of dots in a subscan direction in the unit cells where dots are arranged in the form of a matrix. CONSTITUTION:The numbers of mirror faces 33 of a polygon mirror 32 is equal to one of the integral dividends of the number of dots 10 in a subscan direction in the unit cells 34 which indicate the multi-stages of density in terms of dots arranged in a matrix. Consequently, the main scan line of the positions of the unit cells 34 are constantly scanned by the same mirror face of the polygon mirror 32. Therefore, data is uniformly printed by the density of the unit cell, regardless of the existence of any gradient on the mirror face 33. Furthermore, no moire or stripe pattern generates at all in the printed image and thus a well-defined high quality image can be printed. |
