PURPOSE:To make sure of the reliability of an engine and its sufficient output by selecting an engine control value according to a knocking state in the engine. CONSTITUTION:The octane value of fuel is discriminated according to a knocking state being detected by a knocking detecting means, and an engine control value in a first area where load is high engine speed is less than the setting one is changed over to such one as conformed to the fuel octane value by a first selector means. Likewise the engine control value in a second area where the engine speed comes to the higher speed side than the first area is changed over to such one as conformed to the fuel octane value by a second selector means. Accordingly, a condition for setting the engine control value as use of high octane value fuel should be set as supposing that a side of the second selector means is a yet lower level in the knocking state as compared with the first selector means. |
