PURPOSE:To invariably and surely protect a rider by operating a deploying means and deploying an air bag when the seating of the rider is detected and a shock due to the collision of a car body is detected even if an engine is inoperative. CONSTITUTION:An ignition switch 2, shock detecting means 3 and 5 closed when a collision is detected, and a deploying means 4 deploying an air bag when the preset current flows are connected in series to a mounted battery 1 to form the electric circuit of an air bag device. A seating detecting means 6 closing a contact when the seating of a rider to a seat is detected is connected in parallel with the ignition switch 2. When the seating of the rider is detected by the seating detecting means 6 and the shock detecting means 3 and 5 are closed, a current is fed from the battery 1 and the air bag is deployed by the deploying means 4, and the rider is protected from the shock even if the ignition switch 2 is opened and the engine is inoperative. |
