The device used for adjusting the length of a vehicle steering shaft comprises a rotational rod (1) fixedly connected to a gear box, an outer shaft (10) transmitting rotational force to the gear box, an inner shaft (20) geared with splines (12,25,411,423), a steering wheel (2) fixed to the inner shaft (20), a length adjustment shaft (30) screwed with the inside of the inner shaft, a lever (3) whose rotation cause the length adjustment shaft (30) to move upward/downward, and a member (40) for locking the movement of the inner shaft (20) according to the movement of the length adjustment shaft (30). The device provides on easy position for operating the steering wheel according to driver's physique condition.
