PURPOSE:To enable execution of stable recording for a long period through cleaning of an ink outlet-forming surface by a method wherein a recessed part is positioned in the cleaning member moving route of a delivery port forming surface cleaned by means of a cleaning member and on the upper stream side in a moving direction of a delivery port-forming region from which ink is delivered. CONSTITUTION:Ink liquid removed through friction of a blade 17 is discharged only below and absorbed in or held at the upper part of an ink carrier 19. In this case, since through rotation of a separator 20, the ink carrier 19 and the blade 17 are slid over the surface of a cleaning part 23a of an ink absorbing body 23, ink received in the ink carrier 19 during predelivery and dust wiped off from a delivery port-forming surface by means of the blade 17 are received by a cleaning part 23a and ink adhered on a delivery port surface is also absorbed. In this case, a foreign matter 2008 on an orifice plate 2002 is wiped and moved over a place draged by the blade 17 and hooked to a non-delivery nozzle 2009 for removal. This constitution prevents movement of the foreign matter to a delivery nozzle 2001. |
